Katie is a graduate of Bournemouth Media School and the Royal Court Theatre, London. Her mentors have included established playwrights and poets – Leo Butler, Polly Clark, Fraser Grace and Simon Stephens. In 2006 she reached the semi-finals with two differing scripts for the British Short Screenplay Competiton, where judges included Kenneth Branagh, Stephen Woolly and Sir Alan Parker. 2008 her script, “Thursday’s Child” reached the top 300 scripts out of 1161 for the Bruntswood Playwriting Competition and she was selected to be one of the 200 creatives to be involved with the first Tony Wilson Experience in Manchester. It was here she had very nice conversations with Irvine Welsh, Steve Coogan, Matt Greenhalgh and Grant Gee.
She’s received development readings at the ICA and Theatre Royal Stratford East (as part of The Scriptreaders where she’s also on the Script Reading panel) for several projects and received an Arvon Grant in 2009. She also has several pieces of flash fiction published online and took part in the Vauxhall 48Hr Film Challenge as part of the Branchage Film Festival, Jersey by scriptwriting the winning film ‘Morning Mist‘. Katie has a short story featured in the ‘Even More Tonto Short Stories‘ anthology which was released in book shops mid 2010 and has been a judge for the TEN by TEN Play Competition in Houston, Texas. She’s the playwright-in-residence for Theatrix and a more thorough breakdown of her work can be seen here:

Hello Katie,
Thank you for your comments on sixsentences. The play isn’t booked to be anywhere else except Salford, Greater Manchester, this year. Hopefully, it may see the light of day elsewhere after that.
So… thanks.
Let me know if you have anything coming up too.
All the best,
Sean
Thanks Sean, both for the comments on 6S site and for popping along here. Who knows I may be in Manchester at some point this year, so please let me know when and where it’s being put on.
Will no doubt be screaming from this here electronical portal as soon as I have anything solid to be put on. Currently tinkering on many scripts.
Many thanks,
Kx.
